Yesterday, June 18, 2020, a meeting was held through a conference call between the representatives of the AFD – Association of Financial Companies and representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of North Macedonia. The meeting reviewed the situation of non-banking financial companies in the context of the health and economic crisis caused by the pandemic of Coyd-19, the challenges and risks for the non-banking financial sector that come as a result of the health crisis and regulatory changes during and post-pandemic. as well as the opportunities and ways to support financial companies.
AFD representatives emphasized the challenges for the non-banking financial sector, pointing out that the state needs to support the industry, especially in terms of maintaining alternative financing channels for citizens and small businesses in North Macedonia, that will play a significant role in the post-crisis period in overcoming the economic effects of the same.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed readiness to continue mutual communication and cooperation, in order to find a mutually acceptable solution for the continuity of the fintech industry under these health and economic conditions.
The non-banking financial sector is ready to show solidarity with the situation of the citizens and the society as a whole and is ready to offer relief for the affected citizens and companies in the post-crisis period.
